Résumé
In a south-eastern suburb of Berlin, out in the sticks, a wily emigrant from Silesia, the wife of a boatman and poacher on the side, carries out a number of robberies - including the beaver coat of the title - and challenges Prussian order with good-natured stubbornness. A social, political, and historical fable. The technique: comedy. This is one of the best (and rare) German comedies.
